Job opportunties: two vacancies for nursery workers

This message from Tom Mitchell:

As many of you know, I have been slowly setting up a specialist plant nursery in Lower Wraxall over the past five years. You may have walked, cycled or hacked past the entrance to the nursery, just before Cherry Orchard Farm, on the cycle path from South Wraxall village to Bradford-on-Avon. I am hoping, finally, to start trading in the autumn of this year and, in the run up to that, I urgently need two part time or one full time staff members to help get everything ready. I’d love to give the job(s) to someone from the village, if anyone is interested. The work will involve all aspects of running a small specialist nursery (we are concentrating on rare plants that are not in cultivation anywhere else). For the moment, the work is seasonal but full time positions will be available next year. No qualifications or particular skills are required but a demonstrable interest in plants is essential. The salary is abysmal but the perks are excellent (I took all the existing staff plant hunting in the Balkans this spring, for example) and, if you are into plants, there are few more interesting places in the UK. If you’d like to apply please call me on 07788 747869 or email
