“Super Sports Day” report and free loan of sports equipment

During our recent fabulous weather, villagers joined neighbours, family and friends in a Fun Sports Day organised by the Link Group. The event, arranged to celebrate the purchase of new picnic benches and sports equipment, paid for from funds raised by the Link Group, included children’s games, adult and child volleyball, table tennis and rounders.

The final event: Upper Village versus Lower Village Rounders Match was a fantastic example of the fun enjoyed, with the Upper Village thrashing the Lower village by a score of 7:2.

Our sincere thanks go to Tanya, who capably planned and managed all the children’s events – no mean feat in the heat of the day with so much distraction!

Finally, we would like to remind all villagers that the equipment is now available by request for your use (villagers only): please contact me to arrange collection and enjoy!

The equipment consists of:

Rounders Kit
Volleyball Kit with professional net easy to put up, ball etc
Badminton Kit, again with professional net easy to put up, rackets etc

Any items damaged or lost would need to be replaced, otherwise there is no charge.

Thanks for those who joined us. We’ve had some great feedback, so if you would like us to repeat the event next year, let us know.
