Thanks to Margaret Cary and Mark Caroe for forwarding this message from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
You will hopefully be aware by now of the consultation I have launched on the police and crime element of the council tax for 2014-15. I am considering an increase of £3.15 per year for the average home (Band D property). The increase is to help reduce the impact of significant central government grant reductions on policing and crime services in Wiltshire and Swindon.
The consultation is now open and runs until Monday 3rd February 2014. I have approached every Area Board and Locality that are meeting during this period and asked for the opportunity to present to attendees on my proposals. A copy of this presentation is available on my website (www.wiltshire-pcc.gov.uk) along with further information.
I would encourage you all to give your feedback on my proposal through the website or by following this link: http://www.wiltshire-pcc.gov.uk/Take-Part/Council-Tax-2014/police-and-crime-element-of-council-tax-feedback.aspx.
