The final acts have been announced for this years Woolley Festival line up (or have they?!?) completing what promises to be the biggest festival the area has seen in quite some time!
Friday 5th September will bring you the legendary Joe Brown and the equally legendary Chas & Dave alongside local artists Billy in the Lowground, Calico Jack and The Frome Ukulele Orchestra (aka The Frukes)!
Saturday 6th September presents 3 stages (so far…), with the Electric Stage featuring 2 Tone and Ska legends The Selecter, Ska Dub pioneers Dreadzone, Stoned Records first signing Yes Sir Boss and Urban Jazz Orchestra The People’s String Foundation alongside instrumental improvisation collective The World Government, funk pop 4 piece The Funkinsteins, world famous Bhangra band RSVP, Senegalese Reggae from The Batch Gueye Band and funk soul collective Malaprop.
The Acoustic Stage offers a headlining performance from 3 Daft Monkeys and includes Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyate, Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston, Lady Nade & The Silhouettes, Blue Rose Code, The Doubtful Guest, Sophie Barker, Pete Taylor, Taran Stormes-Martino and Wessex Contraband.
The Alternative Stage closes with a headlining (and UK exclusive) performance from the simply stunning “supergroup” The Aristocrats, following outstanding acts such as Zun Zun Egui, Edinburgh based Hidden Orchestra, Act1 and Dizraeli & The Small Gods, alongside Ushti Baba, The Electric Swing Circus, The Duval Project and Thelonius.
Sunday 7th September also presents 3 stages, with the Electric Stage featuring a homecoming headline performance from Jesus Jones alongside a host of locally grown acts, including The Greasy Slicks, Port Erin, The Daturas, Derry, Charivari, My Social Orbit, Budada and Dirty Public.
The Acoustic Stage features a headline performance from the superb Martin Simpson and a supporting performance from BBC Folk Award 2014 winners Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, alongside performances from a myriad of locally based singer/songwriters such as The Croutons, The Cleverly Brothers, Jessica Vincent, Poppa Shep, Tom Rockliffe, Bertie Wright, The Morris Men and The Cosmic Sausages.
Finally, the Jazz Stage features a headlining performance from the stellar Courtney Pine, as well as performances from The Bad Hands, The Zen Hussies, and Bartoune, as well as The Robert Brian Quartet, The Hot Tin Roofs and Hip Pocket.
