Burns Night raises over £700 for Village Hall

From Margaret Gill:

An excellent turn out ensured that a wonderful time was had by all at the South Wraxall Burns Night in the Village Hall on Saturday 24th January.  10917303_856323361085610_7535132968925570911_n Guests from outside the village helped bring the evening together. The Haggis supplied by the Longs Arms was piped in by Martin Davis and Robbie Burns poetry was recited by Don Steele, Juliette Davis and our own Lassie Claire Atkins.

The kitchen crew served a Bill o’ Fare of – Cock a Leekee soup, Haggis, Neeps and Tatties followed by Edinburgh Fog. After the toasts, the evening turned to Scottish Country Dancing.  Caller Charles Freeman ensured everyone was dancing and our “distinguished guests” Mr Dave Wyper and Mrs Jacqueline Loxton were first in line to dance The Gay Gordons. 885543_1611852182366941_7398500270745043304_o

The next morning messages were circulating   – “ a great night out“, “The best burns night I’ve been to”, fantastic haggis“, and “excellent dancing ”.
