Warning about doorstep ‘salesmen’

Thanks to George Lodge for passing on this message from Wiltshire Police:

Beware! A team of Nottingham Knockers have been reported in the Woolley Street area of Bradford on Avon this afternoon. These are the callers at your door usually with a large black bag on their back trying to sell you household items. They do not possess a valid pedlars license, despite the ID they show you (which is fake), so our advice is not to buy anything from them and politely close the door and call 101 to report them to us, noting their direction of travel if possible. Please share this post particularly to friends who live in the Bradford on Avon town and villages area.
