South Wraxall Village Fete 6th June 2015 at 2pm followed by
Village Party 7.30 – 11.30pm
Plans are well advanced for the fete which will open at 2pm on 6th June in the Minters’ field opposite the Village Hall.
You can look forward to lots of exciting things to do. This year, as in 2013, we are holding the popular ‘Bake Off’, and you can try a hand or foot massage, or hair braiding and nail art. For children, there will be games and face painting, we are hoping to get some animal visitors, and we will be holding a dog agility competition plus a prize for the best dressed dog. Of course, this will all be rounded off with an Upper versus Lower Tug of War!
As well as the thing to do we will have all the popular stalls:
- Antiques and Vintage Clothing
- Lucky Dip
- Traditional Games
To keep your strength up during the afternoon we will be serving hot dogs and burgers, cream teas, ice creams and popcorn, which can be washed down with a nice cup of tea, a glass of Pimms, or your favourite tipple from the bar, which is kindly being run throughout the afternoon and evening by the South Wraxall Club.
Following this traditional afternoon there will be a village party in the evening in the marquee. There will be music and Line Dancing (led by John and Joy Hirt who had the whole village dancing in 2013!). Supper of chilli and baked potato are included in the price of £7.50 (under 18s £2.50 under 5s free). Vegetarian chilli will also be available and of course refreshments from the bar.
Tickets for the afternoon are £1 for adults (under 18s free). We will visit each house prior to the 6th June to give you the opportunity to buy your lucky numbered fete entry ticket, your party tickets and raffle tickets. At the beginning of the fete we will draw the lucky number who will win Sunday lunch for two at the Longs Arms. It helps greatly with catering if tickets for the party can be bought in advance but of course tickets for both the fete and the party will be available on the door.
The proceeds from the fete will be split between St James Church and the Village Hall and a donation will also be made to the South Wraxall Club for their help providing the bar. It should be a fantastic day so please do come along and enjoy yourselves and support these beautiful buildings which are both in need to a bit of attention!
