Afternoon Tea in St James’s

From Jean Atkin:

It was a sunny, warm afternoon last week when we welcomed villagers and visitors to another Church Tea. Fewer people came this time, but old friends met for a long chat over cakes and cups of tea and several guests from neighbouring villages enjoyed sitting at tables in the churchyard and then spent time looking around the church.

We again received many gifts of cakes and sandwiches, and made a profit of £155. All these amounts go towards keeping the church fabric in good repair. This includes the stained glass windows and we hope that work on these will begin soon, starting with the one in the Longs chapel which is in urgent need of attention.
