Afternoon Tea at St James’s

From Jean Atkin:

It wasn’t a promising start to the day, but the weather improved as the day went on. We were able to put some tables outside in the churchyard and some of our guests chose to relax in the sunshine.

We welcomed loyal villagers who always support us and friends from Monkton Farleigh, Winsley, Bradford on Avon and even visitors from Bathford.

We appreciate the help and the gifts of cakes, sandwiches etc that we received from a number of people. Donations for tea amounted to £240 – an encouraging start to our summer season of hospitality.

We look forward to welcoming many more of you at our next Afternoon Tea on Thursday 28 June.
