From Jean Atkin:
On a showery morning we were pleased to welcome so many hungry villagers and friends to our first breakfast of 2019.
We started serving promptly at 9 o’clock to the regulars from Winsley, who come to support us and then leave to get back for their church service. The four loyal ladies from Bath arrived soon afterwards. They always sit for a long time in the friendly surroundings and put the next date in their diaries before they leave.
Then we saw a steady stream of long-term residents and young families who have recently joined our village community. People lingered to enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning exchanging news.
Our dedicated staff worked hard all morning to serve 70 customers until midday, when we all sat down to consume the ‘left-overs’.
Generous donations resulted in a profit of £522 towards the upkeep of St James’s Church. Thank you once again for your support.
